Welcome to the LEHIGH VALLEY FLYING CLUB!

How To Join LVFC

New Members Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the LVFC, we'd like you to see the value and advantages club flying has to offer first hand.  We strive as a club to make membership as positive and rewarding as we can for all members!

We try to limit unnecessary paperwork for our members, but because we are a relatively large club we have procedures for joining that all new members should be aware of.  Please feel free to Contact our membership Coordinators if you have some questions before you start the application process.

Step 1 is to print and fill out an application.  We'd like you to bring your application to a meeting.  That way you can see our planes, meet some of our members and have a look around.

Step 2 is to get sponsored.  If you know someone in the club please contact them directly, they should be happy to help.  If you don't personally know a club member you can request that the Board of Directors sponsor you.  Right now we are actively recruiting new members, just contact the board through our membership coordinators and we will get you started.

If you would like to obtain Board sponsorship, you will need to attend a Board meeting.  Board meetings are usually held the Third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm in the LVFC Hangar.  Please let us know you are coming by making an appointment through the membership coordinators, they will give you any last minute schedule updates and make sure everything goes smoothly.   :   Directions to LVFC

Step 3 is getting officially read at 2 member meetings.  Once you have an active Member or the Board sponsor you, your application would be offically read to the membership at two of our monthly General Membership meetings.  These are held at 7:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month.  You are required to be present for at least one of those readings in order to answer any questions relative to your application and your reasons for joining the Club. (Please note that we must have a quorum at the general membership meeting in order for your application to be approved.)  We use "Roberts Rules of Order" as a guideline for running our meetings.

Initiation Costs:  At the first reading you will need to provide $250.  This is half of the $500 initiation fee*.  The remainder will be required at the time you are voted into the Club at the second reading.

After you are voted in and fee's are settled you're in the club.  Congratulations and Welcome!

Once you become a member, the current monthly dues* are $65 as of 01/01/2011.

Our monthly dues* covers fixed costs such as hangar rental as all of our planes are hangared, electricity, plane insurance and one 250 hour inspection per plane.  The 250 hour inspection is really an annual inspection, but we do one every 250 hours or annually, whichever comes first.

We strongly recommend regular attendance at the monthly meetings to take advantage of the fact that we are a club, with a diverse membership, and not an FBO.  Our membership runs the gamut from brand new students to airline pilots and ex-military, and most have some interesting experiences to relate if you're around to get to know them.  During the warmer months, we have a hamburger/hotdog/chicken cook-out prior to each meeting, so members can get together with time to talk outside the regular business meeting.  We depend on feedback and participation from all members to make the club a rewarding experience, we hope you will not only enjoy your time with the club, but will also particpate in related activities!

If what you've read and heard interests you and you'd like to join our Club, Contact our Membership Coordinators. You can also call They will answer any of your questions.  If you prefer ask your questions over the phone, just send them an email with your phone number, and best time you can be reached.

Once you are accepted, our Membership Coordinator, will give you a tour of the facilities and provide access details.  There is a probationary period of six months or 25 hours flight time, whichever comes first.  We hope that you will enjoy our club as much as we do.

* Please note: for a limited time only the iniation fee is reduced from $1,000!  Also, our initiation fee, and dues, or payment option is subject to change at any time and we may have not updated our web page to reflect our current terms.
