Top Five Reasons Why Pilots Join the Lehigh Valley Flying Club!
Our Club was founded in 1956 as the Slatington Flying Club with twenty-three social and twenty-three active members. As more members from around the Lehigh Valley joined, the Club grew and moved to the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton (ABE) Airport in 1975. In 1981 we changed our name to the Lehigh Valley Flying Club. Our club now has about eighty active and thirty social members. Many of our members are builders and ultralight fliers. We joined the Experimental Aircraft Association's EAA Chapter #70 to further our passion for recreational flying. Join the camaraderie of fellow members who share your interests. Enjoy our activities and friendly hangar flying while learning more about aviation and sharing the costs. You can fly off on your own for that dream vacation or a long weekend, without the hassle normally involved with trying to rent a plane from an FBO. The Club is not an FBO and does not rent aircraft! Every member is an equal owner of all the airplanes and shares in the costs associated with operating those aircraft .
